Horses & Unicorns

Based on a Rumpled Quilt Skins pattern, these horses and unicorns have been adjusted slightly to fit our needs. These are around 33cm tall. Optionally a horn can be added to make unicorns.

As you can see I have adapted the pattern a bit to make the legs a bit longer – I think they look better like that, but if you prefer the shorter legs, let me know!

If you’re interested in having your own custom wrap scrap horse or unicorn made, don’t hesitate to contact me. You can find more information about prices and scrap size needed on the Prices and sizes page.

Ingrid is twin sister to Annabelle, who sold through the webshop earlier this year, and has been patiently waiting for her sister to be finished. Both are now off to their new home. Ingrid was a custom order and is not available for sale.

Oscha Slings Kasumi Bella is such a lovely piece to work with (I love these colours). Kasumi is always nice for crafting, trying to get the pattern placement just right...
The thin subtle gold weft is lovely (although it is a tad fiddly and breaks easily as a single thread).

Kasumi Bella is an Egyptian cotton/linen blend. Ingrid has plastic safety eyes and she's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

Oscha Slings Legend of Frodo Dreme is such a stunner. I really love the Philosopher's warp and Legend of Frodo does not disappoint.

The surprising weft colours are not what I would have thought would make a good weft combination, but they make a great weft grad and add colourful pops of contrasting colour to the mane and tail.

"Silmaril" has plastic safety eyes and mulesing free merino wool stuffing, is a custom order and therefore not available for purchase.

Skywalker is a rock star!
Oscha Slings outdid themselves when they paired a gorgeous dark blue schappe silk warp with this Shantung Tussah silk weft.

Unfortunately this particular piece of fabric had a bad experience when washed, which took away the exuberant shine that Schappe silk is known for.
Nevertheless, it still makes a stunning alicorn and I'm sure Skywalker will soar straight into his owner's heart.

He has plastic safety eyes and he's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool. He's a custom order and therefore not available for purchase.

Echo has a quiet beauty with his understated black warp, yet he has the Shantung tussah silk colourful nubs and slubs that make him stand out in a crowd.

He has plastic safety eyes and mulesing free merino wool stuffing. His mane and tail are a mix of warp (black Sea Island cotton) and weft (Shantung Tussah silk). Oscha Slings' Starry Night Echo was, as always, truly a pleasure to work with. Sea Island cotton really is the nicest cotton around!

Echo is a custom order and therefore not available for purchase.

Oscha Slings Kasumi Bella makes a very pretty unicorn! Annabelle has plastic safety eyes to always look on the bright side of life 😉. She's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and will be available for sale later this week!

Her mane feature both warp (the blue and purple) and weft (the soft and thin champagne gold). Her tail has no weft in it, but is gorgeously thick and soft.

A little bit of Magic is the name of my latest alicorn and wow does this one live up to its name!

"Magic" is made out of 4 Oscha Slings fabrics. Mainly Starry Night Vanilla and Arwen Eiliant, but there's a little bit of Starry Night Auric (the horn) and Sekai Serene (the inside of the ears) too!

Magic was a custom order with all the fabrics sent to me and is not available for purchase.

Beauty and the Beast is a story of two characters and well, once I had made one alicorn, a second had to follow ;). So here is Philippe, named after Belle's horse.

Philippe was sent to a friend of my lovely customer, as a gift <3 and I enjoyed working on such a great gift. It's also nice to make two quite different creations from the same piece of fabric.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Cormac shows off his Oscha Slings Shire Cormarë fabric in style. This is the first time I've worked with Shire and I love finding the best pattern placement!

As always, this one is stuffed with mulesing free merino wool. He has soft felt eyes and a nice detail on his hooves :).

Cormac was a custom order with the fabric sent to me and he's not available for purchase.

Hecate might sound like she's a witch, but she's the nice kind of witch for sure. Made out of Oscha Slings Starry Night Brew, she features soft felt eyes and she's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

I absolutely adore these colours and working with fabrics from Oscha's Philosopher's warp is always a joy.

Hecate is a custom order and she's already left our home to fly to her new one.

Morag and Mollie are made from the same fabric - Oscha Kelpies Seafoam. Morag is made with the "right side" out (the dark blue side) and Mollie is made from the "wrong side".

One is staying, the other one will be up for sale!
These have been extra fun for me to make, because I designed the pattern too <3. The lovely viscose/tussah weft is giving them a lovely textured, colourful look.

Both are stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and they have black plastic safety eyes (not suitable for small children).

All finished: Adam!

Made out of @oschaslings Starry Night Beauty and the Beast.
Thought this one was a lady, but it turns out it's a guy instead. Adam is the name of the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, when he's a prince and not a beast.

Stuffed with mulesing free merino wool, and finished with felt eyes. He will live with us for a while longer because there is a brother in the making 😊.

Zirka is a very special lady. Deeply caring for those in need and always ready to listen to whatever you need to get off your chest.

She is part of a charity deal or no deal type event for Ukraine where I offered my services.
A very generous donation was made (thank you so much!) and I got to create this lovely lady out of Oscha Starry Night Brew (cotton/hemp/silk blend).

She has lovely shiny plastic safety eyes (not suitable for small children as always) and she's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

Used a new (especially purchased for this purpose) brush to comb out mane and tail and it worked beautifully. Yes, you can use a brush on these, they should be attached securely enough that there will be minimal shedding and no popping of seams, if done with some care. I'm not that gentle myself ;).

She's off to her new home now!

Brego is the most trustworthy companion you’ll ever have, once you’ve gained his trust. When you have, he’ll go through fire and ice for you.

Made with Oscha Legend of Frodo Dreme, 100% organic combed cotton, with plastic safety eyes and stuffed with mulesing free German merino wool.

Brego will be sold on the website on Sunday March 20th.

Presenting Ziggy Stardust, a true rock star!

Oscha Misty Mountains Long Forgotten Gold (60% Peace silk, 40% Super cotton) is totally worth its unicorn status (see what I did there). It was a joy to work with and the weft is so gorgeous!

Ziggy features peace silk mane and tail, plastic safety eyes and merino wool stuffing.

Ziggy has been sold via the webshop.

Sólris has the sunniest disposition ever. He's a bit of an experiment in that he was cut on the bias. We knew there would be some distortion in the general shape because of that, but I think it worked out quite fine :).

Made out of Oscha Seasalt Sólsetur (59% BCI organic combed cotton, 41% Tussah silk) with plastic safety eyes and mulesing free merino wool stuffing. He features fabulous tussah silk mane and a blue cotton tail.

Sólris is a custom order and therefore not available for sale.

"Goldilocks" here (no, just kidding, his name is Vino) was a semi-custom order. I had planned to do a Stella unicorn and a friend expressed interest, so we went from there!

The weft-only mane and tail ended up very 'in-your-face' but honestly, it does suit him. Few things beat a gold weft on a wine red warp <3

Vino has plastic safety eyes and he's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

Since he was a semi-custom order, he's not available for purchase.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Oscha Starry Night Empress (59% Organic combed cotton, 41% Superwash cashwool) makes a truly majestic unicorn.

This lovely unicorn was given a name by me, but turned out to be a stallion rather than a mare, and has since received a new name ;).

He's finished with plastic safety eyes, stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and as always Starry Night seems to be a "small repetitive pattern" but the horses and unicorns always take up more fabric than I think they will - only for the leftovers to vanish into the mane and tail <3

He was a custom order, paid by a group of awesome friends as a Christmas gift to a friend who could use some TLC - I really love these communities.
So - he's not available for purchase.

Bela is joining Aldieb on her journey home 🥰. She is looking forward to new adventures in the wide world!

She's made with Oscha Sekai Aozora, featuring plastic safety eyes and stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

I still find it funny that I didn't like this grad when it was created 7-8 years ago but I think I have everything from this warp in stock now 😅😁.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins and adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Adonis thinks of himself as a bad boy but honestly, if you take a good look at him, you'll know he's not. He still has a mischievous sparkle in his soft felt eyes though 😉.

Oscha Matrix Adara was made for alicorns. The colours show beautifully and the bit of black mixed into his mane and tail works great to make the purples and blues pop even more.

He is stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and as part of a custom order he's not for sale.

Selene is Ilinga's younger sister - Constellation Orbit really does make wonderful unicorns! Stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and with shiny plastic safety eyes she's ready to go to her new home.

This lovely unicorn loves cuddles, being with friends and most of all sleep. She cherishes her family but values some downtime on her own too - finding a good balance is always a challenge!

She's part of a custom order and not available for purchase.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Sold now!

Aldieb is a very sophisticated lady. Oscha Victoriana Vintage suits her very well!
She has a small modification to the pattern that I like and will use for future horses/unicorns - it makes the hind legs stand straighter instead of them being quite wide apart.

She has a great sparkle in her plastic safety eyes and she's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

Ysera is one of the reasons I enjoy doing this even more on occasion - getting to work with some really rare fabrics that I otherwise wouldn't get to admire up close.

Oscha Skipping Stones Ripple is what Ysera is made of. Mulesing free merino wool and plastic safety eyes finish her look.

She's part of a custom order and this not available for purchase.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
After having named two unicorns after two characters from a great fantasy series I had to name this redhead after a red-headed character from one of my other favorite series, Outlander. So yes his name is Jamie :).

Jamie's gorgeous, courtesy of Oscha's Starry Night Confetti fabric. His fabulous tussah silk mane and tail really did remind me of Jamie - I love tussah silk wefts! I wish all manes and tails could be like this.

He's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and he has plastic safety eyes - I do enjoy the extra bit of dimension the plastic eyes give them.

I made Jamie because I prefer sewing up the horses/unicorns in pairs and then put him up for sale in the shop. He's sold now and has found a great new home, with friends.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Moiraine - yes she's named after a character from The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, being blue and all that.

She's made out of Oscha Coeur Fira - I still love the combination of colours! She has a combination of warp and weft in her mane and tail. She's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and she has lovely felt eyes, giving her a soft cuddly look.

She's a custom order so she's not available for purchase.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Ilinga is a special one. She's named after the Moon Filly, out of the Silver Brumby book series by Australian writer Elyne Mitchell. Both me and my lovely customer hadn't met anyone before who was familiar with this series. And now I've discovered that there are quite a few books from the series I'd never read because they were never translated into Dutch. Needless to say I'm now reading them all in English 😁.

She's made out of Oscha Constellation Orbit, finished with plastic safety eyes and stuffed with mulesing free merino wool. I usually give these a bit of a haircut but I loved her long mane so much that I left them like this.

Ilinga is part of a custom order and thus not available for purchase.

Eskil was so much fun to work on. I just love blues!
He has plastic safety eyes and is stuffed with mulesing free merino wool. He has a lovely round face and curves in all the right places.

Oscha Willow Esker was a great piece of fabric to work with and his name fits him very well! I'm loving the contrasting mane and tail and the horn stands out nicely.

Eskil is part of a custom order so he's not available for purchase.

This fun unicorn with his "Legend of Frodo" text featured prominently on the body has no name yet, and will receive one soon.

Made out of Oscha Legend of Frodo Rhûn, finished with plastic safety eyes and stuffed with mulesing free merino wool, this is as unicorn-like as they get 😉.

This one was a custom order and is not available for purchase.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by me.
Ed (he reminded me of Ed Sheeran 😅) is a cheerful guy. Made of Oscha Rei Ripple, stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and finished with lovely soft felt eyes, he's off to his new home on the other side of the ocean.

"Gold" wefts can be so surprising and I'm enjoying all the different yarn samples I'm collecting from creating the manes of my horses and unicorns.

Ed is a custom order and not available for purchase.

Nanni (left) & Hanni are twins, made out of the same piece of fabric (Oscha Starry Night Mirage). They will live at two different homes but will be equally loved and may yet see each other again 😉.

Nanni features felt eyes while Hanni has plastic safety eyes. Both are stuffed with my signature mulesing free merino wool.

They are part of a custom order and not available for purchase.

Farfalla has been gifted so I can share now 😊.

She's based on a special horse but she has a very distinct personality all of her own.
Made of Oscha Starry Night Echo she features plastic safety eyes and she's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

You just have to love those mane and tail - her mane is 100% Confetti tussah silk, her tail is a mix of silk and silky Sea Island Cotton. You could say that this is definitely not a "work horse" and she knows it!

Farfalla was a gift and is not available for purchase.
Presenting Isabeau, a strong-willed unicorn lady with an artistic streak and a good sense of humour. She insisted that I use this pic with the flare instead of the ones without, because she thinks it makes her look extra magical.

Isabeau is made with Oscha Anais Bellina fabric, with felt eyes and mulesing free merino wool stuffing. She loves the great outdoors and is ready to go on adventures!

She's a custom order so not available for purchase.

Based on a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Oscha Stella Arcturus not only makes gorgeous dragons, it suits Lancelot very well too! Cotton and hemp create a red and gold unicorn, ready to move into a new home.

Lancelot will be up for draw in the chatter group later on, so make sure to join the group if you're interested!

He's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and his felt eyes give him a soft look, while the red-and-gold mane and tail give him a fiery look.

I don't think it matters much how many alicorns I have to make with Oscha Constellation Machlud Haul, they each amaze me with how stunning they turn out to be.

Dreamer is on her way to her new home. Her tussah silk mane coordinate so well with the rest, and I've had fun with the contrasting wings and rainbow tail.

She's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and she has felt eyes. She's a custom order and not available for purchase.

Based on a Rumpled Quilt Skins pattern, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Another unicorn but really, I never tire of making them. Each and every one is a surprise with how they turn out and the rainbow of Oscha Constellation Artemis is so perfectly suited for a fun, colourful creation!

Bridget is as colourful as she is exuberant, very outgoing and warm. She has felt eyes and she's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool. Her cashwool and silk weft make her soft (even if she's quite firmly stuffed) and those twinkly stars are so well fitting for a unicorn!

She's a custom order and not available for purchase.

Based on a Rumpled Quilt Skins pattern, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Starshine here, named by her new owner, is off to her new home. Oscha Starry Night Tonic is so fun to work with. The weft grad shine through and the rainbow mane and tail are what makes each unique. Even if the hemp can be a bit stubborn 😅.

Stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and finished with soft felt eyes this one is sure to become a favorite!

A custom order, this unicorn is not available for purchase.

Banzai is very proud of his wild mane and he loves to let the wind blow through them - he thinks it makes him look Very Fierce.

He is made with Oscha Rei Pipeline and I absolutely love the classic blue-teal-gold combination, I think it's become one of my favorites. It was great working on this one and the silk weft is so nice and soft, a pleasure to work with. He's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and he features plastic safety eyes.

The base pattern I've used is by Rumpled Quilt Skins but I've made so many adaptations to it by now that it's looks quite different now.

Banzai was a custom order and he's not available for purchase. If you'd like one of your own, feel free to contact me!
Deveno is gorgeous and he knows it! Oscha Constellation Machlud Haul is one of the most stunning fabrics I've handled from Oscha so far.

He features tussah silk mane and a contrasting tail, bright wings (pic in the comments), felt eyes and merino wool stuffing.

Deveno has been sold through a draw to purchase.

Axis (left) and Helios (right) are brothers, part of the same order.

Axis is made of Oscha Legend of Frodo Bold as Love, stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and finished with felt eyes.

Helios is an alicorn, stuffed with mulesing free merino wool, finished with felt eyes and sporting fancy wings! He's made of Luluna Slings Tsuki Summer Breeze. I found it more challenging to work with an unfamiliar pattern than I had anticipated :).

These brothers are a custom order and are not for sale. If you'd like your own custom unicorn, send me a message and we can discuss the details!

Leona is my first alicorn, a winged unicorn - my tester.

I received a request to make an alicorn and I'd never done one before, so why not try it now! The wings have a firmer type of interfacing and a little bit of stuffing - I think I will be adjusting the shape a little but overall I'm quite happy with how she turned out.

Leona is made out of Oscha Leon Delta, woven fabric with a cottolin warp and a viscose linen slub weft. The colours are intriguing - the yarn seems to be dyed in multiple colours. And I just like this pattern even though it never seemed to become very popular.

Leona has now SOLD.

Based on a Rumpled Quilt Skins pattern, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
I have so enjoyed working with this fabric, Oscha Shui Long Aeon! Shui Long has been my favorite pattern ever since I first saw it in 2013. And Aeon is a bit special to me too, woven on the warp that was custom dyed for the Dutch/Belgian fangroup exclusive preorder.

The cotton/linen blue warp and the silvery grey camel/silk weft make this a very fluid and thin fabric (so happy to be using interfacing for projects like this one!)... and if you ask me, it makes a stunning unicorn!

Aeoleon (who recognises where the name comes from?) is a gentle lady who will carry you home safely, always. She has felt eyes and she's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

She's a custom order and as such not available for purchase. If you'd like your own unicorn, send me a message or have a look here or on my website first.

Ginny is a very colourful lady (and she might not entirely be a virgin to colourful language either...). She rocks that Oscha Starry Night Tonic fabric and she has rainbow hair too!

She has plastic safety eyes and is stuffed with mulesing free merino wool. She has already been sold so she's not available for purchase.

Ginny was a tester for some minor pattern changes I wanted to try out, some I will keep, others I won't keep (especially the one that makes her have a rather pointed/square behind).

If you'd like your own unicorn, let me know! I have more SN Tonic fabric available :).

This lovely lady that we called Valinor is (literally) the big sister to Valerion. They were finished together on the same day and they're both sent off to two friends who asked for "family pictures" (see comments).

She's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool and has plastic safety eyes. Her horn is from the light part of the fabric but like her brother she too has multicoloured manes and tail.

Valinor is a custom order and not available for purchase. Let me know if you'd like your own unicorn, but I'm fresh out of this particular fabric so I won't be able to make another one soon.

Based on a Rumpled Quilt Skins pattern, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Valerion is something of a baby brother, even though he was technically 'born' first - you can see why on the "family pictures" 😉. I like to challenge myself to make each of my creations unique, even if the basic specifications are identical to other orders.

Oschas's Legend of Frodo pattern really asks for this specific pattern placement, featuring the 'Legend of Frodo' script on the body part. So then how do we make each unicorn unique withouth making it look silly?

So we added the second colour to the manes and tail, and you can vary a bit with the horn colour too, so here we are!
He has plastic safety eyes and he's stuffed with mulesing free merino wool.

Valerion is a custom order and not available for purchase. Let me know if you'd like your own unicorn, but I'm fresh out of this particular fabric so I won't be able to make another one soon.

Carson is a fiery unicorn, ready to dash off into a new adventure but always there for you if you need him!
I got to choose between creating a fox or a unicorn out of the lovely Oscha Ivy Candlelight fabric I received. Having created a good number of foxes and loving the new adaptations I'd made to the pattern, I decided to make a unicorn. And I do believe he's been received with joy and appreciation :).
He's stuffed with merino wool and he has lovely felt eyes.

Carson was a custom order and is not available for purchase. If you'd like your own horse or unicorn, please contact me and we can discuss the details :)

Valencia here was not the easiest one to make, but great fun nonetheless. I made a few changes to the original pattern to improve her posture and to improve the way the horn is attached - after all, what's a unicorn without a horn?!
I love how she turned out and I love the way the pattern shows on her. I'm a bit sad now that I have no more Oscha Legend of Frodo Vale left to work with because the Britspun Suvin Gold is very nice and soft.

She's stuffed with organic kapok (so I'm looking quite fuzzy myself right now) and she has black plastic safety eyes which suit her very well.

Valencia is a custom order and not available for purchase. If you'd like your own custom unicorn, send me a message and we can discuss options!

Sansa loves making wishes come true. She's always cheerful and fun to be around. She's very soft with her merino wool stuffing and loves cuddles.

I have made a few adjustments to the pattern regarding tail placement, leg length (I've made them slightly longer) and of course the horn - after all, the original pattern was "just" for a mundane horse ;).

Made with Oscha Eirawen Sancerre, a dusty rose grad, and finished with felt eyes, Sansa my the first custom unicorn. She is a full custom and not available for purchase.

Based on a Rumpled Quilt Skins pattern, adapted by Tenshi Treasures.
Blossom is the first unicorn to join the zoo. She had first been claimed by my 3yo daughter so she was not available for purchase. I could have known - her favorite colours are pink and purple ;).
But little girls grow older, collect more animals, and sometimes one can go, so eventually Blossom was sold.

Blossom is made with Oscha Blossom Elopement (wonderfully soft sea island cotton!), stuffed with merino wool and she has plastic safety eyes.
