Moppie (the name is a Dutch term of endearment, similar to “darling”) is a soft, colourful bunny! Almost literally so, she has to be weighted down a bit in order to stay upright, otherwise she’d end up on her head time and time again. Therefore she’s weighted down a bit with bird shell sand that used to have a slight aniseed-smell but the smell has disappeared – Moppie was made in June 2020. The sand is securely sewn into a cotton pouch, inserted at the bottom. Because of this, I’d not recommend her to be handled by small children who might chew or otherwise get in contact with the sand. (I don’t think it’ll happen quickly, but better safe than sorry – these are keepsakes, not toys.)
She is made of Oscha Supernova Rainbow (58% organic combed cotton, 42% ice cotton). She’s stuffed with mulesing free German merino wool and she has embroidered features with a gentle smile. Her ears feature white Shannon Plush fabric, very very soft (100% polyester). She’s not quite heavy enough to be used as a door stop, but might serve as a (big!) presse-papier or just a fun addition on a shelf, brightening up the room with her colourful appearance.
My daughter appropriated her when I had finished her (or actually even before that) but she’s now released her so I can sell. She’s in Excellent Used Condition (EUC) or shall we say “pre-loved”. I’ve checked her over and she has no marks from her previous ‘owner’ ;).
She measures around 16cm high and 12cm wide. The pattern is by Abby Glassenberg – While She Naps.
