Description
Nijntje is the twin sister to Fee, who was part of my Sneaky Santa exchange package this year. Unlike other bunnies I’ve made, I chose to make this one without any added weighting materials, and to pay some extra attention to the stuffing process. So she can actually stay upright on her own without falling over, and does not contain any materials that are considered dangerous to small children.
She’s named after popular Dutch character Nijntje (created by writer Dick Bruna), whom you might know as Miffy. ‘Nijntje’ comes from the word “konijntje” which means little bunny.
Made with Oscha Evenstar Fëa (cotton, hemp and wild silk) and combined with Oscha Starry Night Vanilla (cotton and wild silk) she’s lovely and soft. She’s stuffed with mulesing free German merino wool and she has embroidered features with a gentle smile.
She measures around 16cm high and 12cm wide. The pattern is by Abby Glassenberg – While She Naps.
